Love my air fryer and a good margarita 😉


  1. Pita bread
  2. Olive oil
  3. Pizza sauce homemade or jarred. I like Muir Glen organic
  4. Optional extra seasoning -oregano, italian and pinch of salt
  5. Chopped garlic
  6. Chopped onion
  7. Torn Basil
  8. Mozzerella snack balls
  9. Sliced tomato
  10. Shredded cheese of choice


  1. Drizzle and rub olive oil on what will the bottom of your pita bread

  2. Turn over and spread your sauce on with a spoon. Sprinkle with additional seasoning if desired.

  3. Top with garlic, onion and basil.

  4. Flatted out your mozzerella balls(about 6) and place on top.

  5. Top with sliced tomato and shredded cheese.

  6. Place in air fryer and cover with a trivet or something similar so toppings don’t fly around

  7. Cook at 350° for 6 mins

  8. If you want a bit crispier crust like me at the end of your 6 mins crank the temp up to 400° and add an additional 3-4 mins

Homemade Hamburger Helper


  1. 1 lb ground beef
  2. 1 small onion finely chopped
  3. 1 tsp paprika
  4. 1 tsp dried parsley
  5. 1 tsp garlic powder
  6. 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  7. to taste salt and pepper
  8. 1 1/2 cups milk
  9. 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  10. 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
  11. 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  12. 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese


  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Brown the ground beef, onion, paprika, parsley, garlic powder, cayenne powder, salt and pepper. If using a ground beef with a higher fat content add in the seasonings after draining the grease.

  2. Stir in the milk, broth, macaroni and tomato sauce. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for 10-12 minutes or until pasta is tender. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

  3. Stir in cheddar cheese until melted.

Alzheimer’s Symptoms Reversed by Compounds Found in Green Tea and Carrots

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, an estimated 5.8 million Americans are currently living with some form of Alzheimer’s disease. It’s the sixth largest cause of death in the U.S, and one out of every three seniors will die with AD or another form of dementia.

Though scientists have spent years looking, so far there is no cure. But researchers from the University of Southern California may have gotten a little closer to finding one according to a study recently published in the Journal of Biological Chemistry.

To conduct the study, researchers split up a group of 32 mice—half male, half female, all of which were genetically programmed to have Alzheimer’s-like symptoms—into four groups. For comparison, each group also had an equal number of healthy mice. Before beginning the study, all the mice were tested with a series of neuropsychological tasks—like running through a Y-shaped maze—to gauge their spatial memory.

The study took a look at two compounds: EGCG, or epigallocatechin-3-gallate, a type of catechin, or antioxidant, found in green tea, and FA, or ferulic acid, another antioxidant found in carrots, tomatoes, rice, wheat, and oats. For three months, the mice consumed a combination of EGCG and FA, only EGCG, only FA, or a placebo. The dosage of each compound was 30mg per kg of body weight—a manageable and well-tolerated amount, even for humans.

At the end of the three-month study, researchers tested the mice again. They found the mice that consumed the compounds had reversed their Alzheimer’s-like symptoms completely.

“After three months, combination treatment completely restored spatial working memory and the Alzheimer’s mice performed just as well as the healthy comparison mice,” Terrence Town, a professor of physiology and neuroscience at the Keck School of Medicine of USC’s Zilkha Neurogenetic Institute, said in a press release.

Town said the compounds may help prevent amyloid precursor proteins from breaking up into amyloid beta (a toxic, smaller protein that’s found in Alzheimer patients’ brains.) These compounds also helped reduce neuroinflammation and oxidative stress, both of which are traits found in human Alzheimer’s patients’ brains.

“You don’t have to wait 10 to 12 years for a designer drug to make it to market; you can make these dietary changes today,” said Town. “I find that very encouraging.”

While it’s definitely promising that plant-based therapies may offer protection against AD and/or dementia, there are a few major caveats to this study. First, it was done in mice (rodent discoveries rarely translate into human treatments), and the study wasn’t very large. But here are some recipes for carrots and green tea just in case.

6 Instant Pot Storage Solutions Besides the Beloved Target Cart

There is a certain cart at Target that Instant Pot owners discovered is basically perfect for their pressure cooker. Great for clearing off countertops (but not banishing the Instant Pot to under-cabinet storage), it’s also only $30. But it might not make sense for every kitchen or every cook, so we started looking to the official Instant Pot Facebook group for more storage solutions real-life Instant Pot owners have and love. See some of our favorite options below.

The Target cart isn’t really ideal for people who want to store and cook with their Instant Pot in one place. This cart, however, is sturdy enough for both (as long as exposed cords are safe for pets and kids). A basket, wire drawer, shelf, and built-in drawer provide tons of options for storage, and the wire drawer can be removed for storing an additional Instant Pot if you’re that big of a fan.

Lo Rice initially went to Target to purchase the cart, but realized she needed something bigger. The 13×13-inch cube is large enough to accommodate her 6-quart Pioneer Woman Instant Pot as well as other mid-sized appliances like an air fryer and NutriBullet. She posted that a small stand mixer will replace the cat, although clearly not if the cat has anything to do with it!

Sabrina Robertson also went to Target for the smaller utility cart but wound up returning it for this much larger option, also from Made by Design — and only $40. The basket and middle shelf can be adjusted and swapped to suit your own storage needs.

Karly Robinson used a second-hand bar cart to make a very stylish home for her Instant Pot. Since it was a second-hand find she’s unsure of the brand, but it looks a lot like a discontinued Threshold cart from Target. Finding one exactly like it proved to be a challenge, but this one from Safavieh Home gets close. You can also buy it on Amazon.

The Origami Foldable Kitchen Cart can (you guessed it) fold up when not in use, but is sturdy enough to hold not one but two Instant Pots, as well as an air fryer, electric kettle, and toaster oven.

Recipe: Slow Cooker Korean BBQ-Style Beef Tacos

The easiest way to bring restaurant-style bulgogi (Korean BBQ beef) to your own dinner table? These three-ingredient slow cooker tacos — which aren’t authentic, of course, but will deliver the sweet, savory, and spicy flavors you expect from Korean BBQ. All you need is flank steak, barbecue sauce, and gochujang — which we like to think of as the spicy miso of Korean cooking.

How to Make Korean-Style BBQ Beef Tacos

Start by slicing flank steak into bite-sized, 1-inch pieces, and transfer them to a 4 1/2-quart slow cooker. Pour in a cup of barbecue sauce and 2 tablespoons gochujang, and stir to coat. Cook for 4 to 5 hours on low until the meat is tender. Pickled vegetables often accompany Korean BBQ beef, so follow that lead and top the tacos with a quick cucumber pickle and sprinkling of sesame seeds.

Slow Cooker Beef Tacos


  • 2 pounds

    flank steak, cut into 1-inch pieces

  • 1 cup

    barbecue sauce (8 ounces)

  • 2 tablespoons


  • Serving options: warm 6-inch flour tortillas, pickled vegetables, sesame seeds


  1. Combine the steak, barbecue sauce, and gochujang in a 4 1/2-quart or larger slow cooker. Cover and cook until the steak is tender, 4 to 5 hours on the LOW setting. If desired, serve on warm tortillas, and garnish with quick cucumber pickles and sesame seeds.

Storage: Leftovers can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 4 days.

Baked Chicken w/ potatoes and carrots

It is a hybrid of recipes with a twist(different seasonings).


  1. 4 tablespoons meat tenderizer
  2. 3 tablespoons garlic powder
  3. 3 tablespoons paprika
  4. 2 tablespoons slap ya mama
  5. 3 tablespoons onion powder
  6. 10 chicken thighs bone in
  7. 1 cup premium EVOO
  8. 2 lbs golden potatoes(or your choice)
  9. 1 lbs carrots(I used frozen)
  10. Half stick of butter


  1. Preheat oven to 365. Wash and clean chicken then put in pan skin down.

  2. Add all seasonings(minus EVOO).

  3. Flip chicken and add same amount of seasonings.

  4. Cover pan with aluminum foil and put in oven for 1 hour.

  5. After one hour drain excess juice and add EVOO over the chicken. Cover and put back in oven for one more hour.

  6. Now peel and clean potatoes and put into cold water before dicing into whichever way you want.

  7. Throw potatoes and carrots into boiling water for 7 minutes.

  8. During this time add EVOO, half stick of butter and 1/2 tablespoon of garlic powder to sauté pan on medium high.

  9. Add potatoes and carrots to sauté pan for 10 minutes stirring occasionally.

  10. Add potatoes and carrots on top of chicken for last 20-30 minutes.

  11. Take out and enjoy.

Snow Dome Strawberry Mochi


  1. <Mochi(Rice Cake)>
  2. 50 grams Glutinous Rice Poelwder
  3. 80 grams Sugar
  4. 100 ml Water
  5. As needed Potato Starch (or Corn Starch)

  7. 8 pcs Strawberry
  8. 200 ml Whipping cream
  9. 2 tbsp Sugar
  10. As needed Sponge Cake


  1. Put 50grams Glutinous Rice Powder, 80 grams Sugar and 100ml water in a heat resister bowl. Mix it well. Covered wrap and heat in a 600 W microwave for 2 minutes. Mix the Mochi well by Tree chestnut. Re-covered wrap and re-heat for 1 minutes again. Thoroughly knead.

  2. Place Mochi on the potato starch spread sheet. (If you do not use starch potato starch, the Mochi sticks.) Extend it to a thickness of 5 mm and punch it round.

  3. Wash Strawberries and remove calyxs. Cut the Sponge cake 5cm squares.

  4. Put the Mochi, whipping cream, Strawberry and Sponge cake on a dish. Wrap it by Mochi.

  5. After wrap, put it on Potato Starch. And keep in refrigerator for 1 hour.

Recipe: Persian Herb Frittata (Kuku Sabzi)

My favorite part about making kuku sabzi is running my knife through the big handfuls of fragrant herbs that give this Persian frittata its name (sabzi means herbs in Farsi). Fresh parsley, cilantro, chives, and dill are the stars of this recipe, though you can substitute leeks, scallions, tarragon, spinach, or other tender greens that you have on hand. Whisk them into eggs, pour into a skillet, and in minutes you have a beautiful, nourishing dish that can be served as an appetizer, side, or main for any meal of the day.

In Iran, kuku sabzi is traditionally served at Nowruz, the New Year, as it symbolizes rebirth (herbs) and fertility (eggs). In addition to the herbs, this frittata or omelette often contains walnuts and barberries – little jewels that give it extra color, texture, and flavor – but these special ingredients aren’t essential if you’re just whipping this up for a quick breakfast, lunch, or snack.

In fact, most of the ingredients and measurements here are pretty loose. I recommend using a generous amount of at least three different herbs, but otherwise you can adjust the quantities and ratios depending on what you have on hand. This dish is also a fantastic way to use up extra parsley or cilantro that so often seems to be lurking in the refrigerator.

Traditionally kuku sabzi is made on the stovetop, but some people bake it in the oven. My recipe is a hybrid, cooked like a frittata by starting it on the stove and finishing it in the oven. It can be served hot or cold, and is especially nice with a dollop of cool, tangy yogurt.

Persian Herb Frittata (Kuku Sabzi)


  • 6

    large eggs, beaten

  • 1 clove

    garlic, crushed

  • 1 tablespoon


  • 1/2 teaspoon


  • 1/2 teaspoon


  • Freshly ground black pepper

  • 1 cup

    chopped chives or green onions

  • 1 cup

    chopped cilantro

  • 1 cup

    chopped dill

  • 1 cup

    chopped parsley

  • 2 tablespoons

    chopped walnuts (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons

    dried barberries, currants, or cranberries (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons

    clarified butter/ghee, butter, or vegetable oil

  • Plain yogurt, to serve (optional)


  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.

  2. Whisk together the eggs, garlic, flour, turmeric, salt, and a few cracks of black pepper. Whisk in the herbs, walnuts (if using), and dried fruit (if using).

  3. Heat the butter or oil in a 10-12" skillet over moderate heat. Pour the egg mixture into the skillet and use the back of a spoon to spread it out evenly. Cook until the eggs start to set around the edges of the skillet, about 2 minutes.

  4. Place the skillet in the oven and bake until the eggs are completely set, about 5 minutes. To test, cut a small slit in the center.

  5. Serve hot or cold, cut into wedges. Especially delicious with a dollop of yogurt.

  • 1 cupsugar
  • 12 teaspooncinnamon

  • 1 orange
  • 12 lemon
  • 750 mlwine
  • 2 cupspomegranate juice
  • 1 cuporange juice
  • 14 cuppomegranate
  • Directions

  • Bring sugar, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, nutmeg and 1 cup water to a boil in small saucepan over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring often, until sugar is dissolved; about 2 minutes. Remove from heat; let cool 30 minutes. Refrigerate syrup until chilled; about 30 minutes.
  • Stir together orange, lemon, 1 cup wine, pomegranate juice, orange juice and ¼ cup syrup in 3-L (12 cup) pitcher. Cover and refrigerate one hour or up to 12 hours.
  • Stir in frozen pomegranate arils and remaining wine. Divide among wine glasses filled with ice.
