Lightly grease and preheat a griddle or skillet over med-high heat.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
Make a well in the center and add the buttermilk, eggs, and butter.
Stir just until moistened.
Gently fold in the pears.
Pour the batter by 1/4 cupfuls onto the griddle.
Cook until the tops are covered with bubbles and the edges look dry, about 2 minutes.
Flip and cook until golden brown, about 1 minute longer.
Repeat with the remaining batter.
