Booths has issued a warning and informed customers that its Two Lemon Bakewell Tarts have been withdrawn from its shelves because they could contain milk, which is not declared on the label. This means that the popular dessert is a possible health risk for people with allergies or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

Booths recalled the product and informed shoppers about the changes. The supermarket also contacted the relevant allergy organisations which will inform their members.
A point-of-sale notice has also been issued explaining why the product was withdrawn and advising shoppers on what to do next.
The Food Standards Agency urged customers who had bought the product, and have an allergy to milk, “not to eat it”.
“Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund, with or without a receipt. For more information contact Booths on 0800 221 8086.”

Lidl recalled its Deluxe Strolghino Salami, with the best-before dates of April 13, 2023, and May 8, 2023.
The supermarket said: “If you have bought the above-mentioned product we advise you not to eat it. Instead, return it to a Lidl GB store for a full refund, with or without a receipt.
“Other use by dates and Deluxe products are not affected by this recall.
“Lidl GB wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused. Any customers with queries or concerns can contact Customer Services on 0800 977 7766 or [email protected].”
Aldi also announced it was recalling its Plant Menu Tofu, but only from its supermarkets in the Midlands due to an isolated temperature control issue.
The retailer explained: “Customers who purchased this product from affected stores are asked to return it, where a full refund will be given.”
