I can’t put an exact number on it, but I’d imagine there are a significant number of people whose last fond memory of life in a “normal” world involved a trip to a Disney theme park. There are probably even more people sulking at home over a canceled trip.
The good news is that members of both camps have the ability to relive or recreate the Disney dining experience, thanks to an ever-expanding collection of recipes shared on the Disney Parks Blog. Next up in the rotation is a decadent breakfast that reads like a dessert at first glance: Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Banana French Toast.”
Served up at the PCH Grill at Disneyland’s Paradise Pier Hotel, the blog describes it as “a perfectly sweet way to start your morning” that “will definitely taste like paradise.” Whether it constitutes a complete and balanced breakfast is a completely different story, but stop pretending like you actually care about that at a time like this.WATCH: How to Make Cinnamon Toast Crunch Snickerdoodles
Beyond the namesake ingredients of chocolate, peanut butter, and bananas, this recipe for four calls for day-old challah bread (so start baking that now I guess), plus eggs, cinnamon, chocolate milk(!), and salt. You’ll basically mix one-inch cubes of the bread sliced bananas and chocolate chips, then blend the peanut butter, eggs, chocolate, milk, salt, and cinnamon together. Once the whole thing is combined in a baking pan, it’ll go into the oven for 35 to 40 minutes. For an added dose of sweetness, drizzle with chocolate syrup and dust with powdered sugar.
Your kids will probably be zooming around the house by the time they’ve finished this breakfast, so good luck with that. Still, if you want to recreate the magic feeling of waking up at one of the most family-friendly places on earth, starting a day with some Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Banana French Toast can definitely get you part of the way there.
