Morrisons has been selling a range of food boxes – selections of various cupboard staples and grocery essentials to get those who are struggling to reach the shops through the lockdown.
The supermarket has turned its attention to celebratory boxes this week ahead of the long weekend.
First the brand launched a special afternoon tea box, which quickly sold out as the public flocked to the site to order a treat for the Bank Holiday Friday.
Due to popular demand, Morrisons has now added scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream onto its doorstep delivery service so that anyone who missed out can still enjoy their afternoon tea.
However, those looking to fire up the barbecue will not be disappointed with the latest box to be added to the collection.
The new BBQ Food Box costs £35 including delivery, and features everything from meat to marinades to help foodies cook up the perfect barbecue buffet.
Available to order from today, the boxes contain over £30 worth of food – so apart from a small delivery charge, shoppers won’t be paying more than they would if they went into the store.
The value box includes 25 pieces of meat, eight meat-free portions, 12 bread rolls, seven packs of vegetables and salads, four marinades and dips, and two boxes of treats for that all important dessert.
The brand said it would comfortably feed a family of four adults, with plenty of meat to go around.

Shoppers will be pleased to know they’re not being ripped off, with the calculated value of everything in the box amounting to £32.83.
Morrisons state that the box itself is £30, while delivery is £5 – but essentially Britons are paying £2.17 for the convenience of having it sent direct to their door.
The box is good news for the meat industry, too. Supermarkets and local stores have been urging customers to support farmers as meat sales have declined during the lockdown.
The meaty box includes Morrisons The Best Scotch Beef Burgers and Thick Pork Sausages, all sourced from British farmers.

However, vegetarians aren’t left out of the mix thanks to the inclusion of meat-free Morrisons Cypriot Halloumi and Corn Cobbettes.
The peppers and mushrooms are ideal for making vegetable skewers, while the salad options make a perfect side dish for those wanting a healthier plate.
It even includes a bottle of Heinz ketchup, something shoppers might have struggled to get as supermarket shelves remain less than fully stocked during the lockdown.
Those with a sweet tooth will also love the two boxes of mini bites fresh from the bakery – flapjacks and brownies are both included in the pack.
