Spiced *Exotic* Apricot Bourbon Sour

Hey, all you cool cats and kittens! If you haven’t yet binged the chaotic Netflix dumpster fire that is Tiger King, what are you doing? Before you crawl out from under that rock, though, you might want to whip up our Spiced *Exotic* Apricot Bourbon Sour—it was developed with the show’s star, Joe Exotic, in mind.  Our recipe calls for a raw egg white because, like our antiheroes, we like to live on the wild side. That said, you can sub in aquafaba for a safe, vegan, and egg shortage-friendly alternative. You’ll also need a few tools: a cocktail shaker, a jigger, a mesh sieve, and a DIY tiger stripe stencil.


  • 2 ounces Bourbon
  • 1 ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon (or 3 heaping bar spoons) apricot preserves
  • 1egg white
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Dried apricots (optional)

How to Make It

Step 1

In a shaker combine Bourbon, lemon juice, apricot preserves and egg white. Dry shake the cocktail vigorously as long as you can, to fully incorporate the egg white with the other ingredients.

Step 2

Add ice to the shaker and shake again, vigorously to chill and dilute the cocktail. Strain into a coupe glass. You should begin to see the cocktail seperate into 2 layers.

Step 3

Take the tiger stripe stencil and place it over the cocktail. Carefully pour the cinnamon into the mesh sieve and shake evenly over the cocktail. Carefully remove stencil to reveal a tiger stripe pattern on the foam. Garnish with a dried apricot slice.
