First the whipped coffee – also known as dalgona coffee – swept across social media with videos showing people how to make frothy coffee at home. Now, some mums have taken out the caffeine and are creating whipped milkshakes at home for their children.
With cafes across the country closed, people are getting creative in the kitchen to craft their own drinks.
From coffee to milkshakes, and even adding alcohol, recipes have spread online.
Adding Nutella, Biscoff, Baileys and more to the drinks adds a twist on the original.
Below are four recipes for easy whipped drinks to try at home.

Dalgona coffee – with a sweet twist
The dalgona coffee can be enjoyed warm or cold and is relatively easy to make at home.
If you don’t have a hand blender it could take a lot of arm power to achieve the same whipped texture.
- 2 tablespoon instant coffee
- 2 tablespoon hot water
- 1 tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk
Whip the instant coffee, hot water, and condensed milk together (either by hand or with a mixer) until very fluffy.
Serve iced over your favourite milk.
For a hot alternative, heat up the milk before adding the whipped coffee mixture.
You can also add flavour by adding caramel or vanilla syrup to the final mix.

Whipped Chocolate milk
- 1/2 teaspoon of cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 3 tablespoon of heavy whipping cream
Whip together the cocoa, sugar and heavy whipping cream either using a mixer or by hand.
You can add a twist to this by including coffee for an iced whipped mocha or using chocolate syrup for a sweeter taste.

Biscoff biscuits are the ultimate accompaniment to coffee or tea, and even now comes in spread form for those indulgent moments.
Now, food blogger sweetportfolio has shared a recipe for Biscoff whipped milk on Instagram.
- 2-3 spoonfuls of melted Biscoff spread
- 1/2 cup of whipped cream
- 1 tbsp of sugar (optional)
Whip together all the ingredients until light and fluffy.
Pour over your favourite milk and add a few crumbled pieces of Biscoff biscuits.
You can even dip Biscoff biscuits in it for the ultimate sweet treat.
Whipped strawberry milk
Sweeping the internet has been a sweet strawberry whipped drink using Nesquik strawberry milkshake mix.
- 1 tbsp of strawberry Nesquik powder
- 4 tbsp (1/4 cup) of heavy whipping cream
Beat together these ingredients until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Dip the rim of the glass in water, and then dip it in the Nesquik powder to rim the glass.
Then pour the Nesquik mixture over milk and enjoy.
