Alan Halsall has spoken about his weight loss many times in the past, saying that it has affected both his physical and mental health. His secret? Regular exercise and not being afraid to let his hair down once in a while. Not being too strict with himself has enabled Alan to lose weight easily because he enjoys what he does, he stated.
Fans of Coronation Street will know that Alan’s appearance has changed over the years.
Since joining the cast of the iconic soap in 1998, the actor has undergone a weight transformation.
By changing his lifestyle, Alan appears to have lost an impressive amount of weight and has maintained a slim frame.
The soap stalwart regularly posts photos of himself on social media and often shares his fitness regime with fans.
Alan’s weight loss was first spotted by his followers when he posted a topless photo of himself in Ibiza in 2018.
Fans were quick to comment on the actor’s toned body, with one person saying “wow dude tell me your secret!!!”
Another person wrote: “How did you get such a great body? You have lost so much weight since your first Corrie days.”
Since his marriage with co-star Lucy-Jo Hudson ended in 2018, Alan has been hitting the gym with colleague Colson Smith, who has also slimmed down in recent years.

Alan does a variety of fitness work outs to lose weight and stay in top shape, including lifting weights, hiking, playing badminton, and cycling.
In a recent Instagram post, the actor shared a snap of him lifting weights with Colson.
The caption read: “Trying to work out whilst laughing at @colsonjsmith having fun & working hard.
“Health is not just about the weights you’re lifting or what you’re eating. It’s also about what you’re thinking and saying!!”
The actor has also posted images of himself on the rowing machines at the gym.
Rowing is an excellent sport to lose weight as it is high intensity and burns around 255 calories in 30 minutes, according to Healthline.
In 2019, Alan told The Sun that he goes to the gym at least three times a week and does a 2.5k run with two minutes of walking to warm up.
He also revealed he does 2.5 miles of cycling, 2.5k of rowing, and 2.5k on the cross trainer.
Alan added: “I like to come [to the gym]. I have a pre-workout meal, I work out, then I have a post-workout meal or a swim and a steam.”
Around the same time, the actor told OK! Magazine that he enjoys doing yoga too, saying: “I’d really got into hot yoga and someone mentioned that Tisha was going to the same studio so I thought we could go together.”
Alan has been in a relationship with actor Tisha Merry for over two years, and the couple live together.
As for diet, Alan is not too strict with himself.
Although he eats healthily, he is not afraid to have the occasional alcoholic drink, often sharing pictures of himself with a pint in hand on social media.
Last year, the actor shared a photo of an ultrasound of a liver, accompanied with the caption: “Well, here goes… some exciting news for you all! It’s come as a bit of a shock but now’s the time to share.
“Totally unexpected and we’ve not told anyone, didn’t want to shout it to the world at first until it was confirmed. We can now share this wonderful news with you all and we’re very proud to announce… this is a scan of my liver in perfect condition, ready for when the pubs re-open.”
