Diet and exercise plans are important for weight loss but there are some tricks that claim to speed up the process. For many years, apple cider vinegar has held a reputation as being able to promote weight loss. How does it work?

Apple cider vinegar is a sour drink made from fermented apples.
The condiment has an acidic taste and contains roughly three calories per tablespoon.
As well as being a low calorie option, apple cider vinegar has proven to have some health benefits, such as weight loss.
A small study revealed those who had a tablespoon of the drink with a high-carb meal had 55 percent lower blood sugar after one hour.
Those who took the drink also ate 200 to 275 fewer calories that day which would definitely add up over the days.
In another study, 144 obese adults were monitored for a 12 week period.
Some participants had one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar a day, others had two tablespoons and a third group drank a placebo.
While continuing their normal diet, those who had one tablespoon of vinegar shed an average of 2.6 pounds.
Participants who had two tablespoons a day dropping 3.7 pounds.
However, it may not necessarily work as well for everyone according to Harry Smith, Snap Fitness Bishop’s Stortford PT.
The expert explained there might not be enough evidence to back up the weight loss claims.
He told Express.co.uk: “There is a line of thought that apple cider vinegar can improve health by reducing insulin response after meals and reducing body fat.

“Unfortunately, none of these claims are backed by any substantial scientific evidence, there is some weak evidence at best.
“At best, it has a largely insignificant effect on health – like a single raindrop in the sea. It just isn’t noticeable.
“By all means, use it as a condiment but don’t worship it as a magic weight loss or health tool.”
Those who do want to give apple cider vinegar a try can include it in their diet in a number of ways.
Slimmers can add one or two tablespoons of the condiment to water to dilute the strong flavour.
Apple cider vinegar can also be hidden in smoothies or added to water and lemon.
Those who do not want to drink the condiment can mixed with olive oil to make it into a salad dressing.
