Bradley Walsh is a beloved fixture of ITV’s The Chase and hosts The Chase Celebrity Special. How did he drop one and a half stone on the scales?
Bradley is a British actor, comedian, singer, television presenter and former professional footballer.
Currently, he stars in The Darling Buds of May remake The Larkins.
At 61-years-old, the TV personality is fighting fit.
In December 2020, he revealed on The Jonathan Ross Show that he had taken up boxing.
Personal trainer Tom McClelland believes that boxing is a great feel-good activity to help you lose fat and tone up.
“I’ve done about a stone and a half in weight”, he exclaimed.
He achieved this through lots of physical activity and reportedly quitting booze.
According to Michael Mosely, an alcohol detox does wonders for your waistline.
But Bradley never led a sedentary lifestyle.
While filming for his and his son’s show Breaking Dad in January 2020, he broke his back in three places riding a bull at a rodeo.
He said: “I hit the floor like a sack of potatoes and broke my back in three places.”
He added: “Two days after – I promised his mum I’d look after him on the tour – I’m trying to climb an ice mountain.”
Bradley didn’t stay in bed during his recovery.
He told This Morning’s Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield that he was “up and walking the next day and driving the RV”.
Despite this, a serious health scare last year prompted him to lose excess weight.
He told The Sun that his high cholesterol was a “time bomb”.
Bradley’s own father passed away at just 59 from heart disease, so he was very aware of his own health and mortality.
He decided he needed to take responsibility for his health.
Bradley sought help from neighbour Mark Wright, who put him through his paces, according to Entertainment Daily.
He weighed in at a heavy 14 stone 9lbs.
Mark, a TOWIE legend, transformed his body in just one month after indulging over Christmas in 2019.
Bradley is not the only Chaser who has chased off their excess weight.
Mark Labbett, known fondly on the show as ‘The Beast’, shed almost 10 stone in two years after being diagnosed with Type Two diabetes.
Tune into ITV tonight at 5pm for The Chase.
