Carol Vorderman shares how she dropped a dress size in two weeks

Carol Vorderman has an enviable figure but how did she get so lean? The broadcaster and media personality recently took herself off to Portugal for a Juice Master retreat, built by Jason Vale.

Posting a jaw-dropping snap of her in a bikini top and denim shorts, Carol showed off her toned tummy and fabulous legs. The photo was captioned: “We’re coming home soon….still another day to go. 18 days -3 days (going to restaurants) = 15 days on juice here at @juicemasterretreats @jasonvale.

“I’ve dropped over a dress size and bursting with energy. Haven’t been into these shorts for a few years and now they’re loose. Boommmm.”

The goal of a Juice Master retreat is to “relax, recharge and rejuvenate”, and has “been welcoming guests from all over the world for almost twenty years”.

“With our carefully planned seven-day mind, body and spiritual journey, we have positively helped to change the lives of thousands of people,” the wesbite read.

On one-week retreats to Juicy Oasis – although you can opt to extend your stay – will see guests drink four juices per day, or three juices and a soup during winter months. They are also daily shots of either ginger, lemon and beetroot or fresh wheatgrass.

According to nutritionist Kerry Torrens in conversation with BBC Good Food, most people on a juice diet will lose weight due to “cutting out sources of fat and protein and significantly cutting calorie intake”.

Studies suggest that a three-day juice cleanse can be helpful for gut health and weight maintenance, however, it is not a “sustainable” weight loss option in the long-term as you return to normal eating.

Alongside the juicing, there are also plenty of exercises classes to take part in at the retreat, as well as relaxing treatments.

In various snaps and videos from her two weeks there, Carol shared the various activities she was getting stuck into; an 80s style spin class, as well as swimming which she shared with her Instagram followers.

Carol revealed she was aiming for 40 lengths in the pool, which she completed after an hour of yoga and 30 minutes of spin that morning.

The two-week retreat was a boost for Carol’s mind and body as she regularly exercises.

In fact, one of Carol’s favourite workouts is weight training: “Lots of squats with a heavy booty band, RDLs with 35kg…split RDLs..leg curls…all the usual stuff and lots of pilates core things too….back on it….BOOOMMMMM.”

Carol’s hard work paid off and the comments of her Instagram were flooded with compliments about her figure. Author Rosie Nixon said she looked “INCRED”, while athlete Dame Kelly Holmes called her “stunning”.

Radio presenter Jenni Falconer said she was “hot to trot”, and singer-songwriter Imelda May simply commented “wowzers”.
