Jessie Wallace has played Kat Slater on EastEnders on and off since 2000. During this time, she has also showcased her weight loss transformation.

Slimming down is not easy for anyone but looking to those who lost weight can be a good way to get inspiration.

Following a healthy diet plan and working out are both important when maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Jessie reportedly lost three stone by doing this.

She also dropped from a size 14 to a trim size 6. 

The soap favourite first lost weight in 2009 and appears to have maintained her healthy lifestyle.

She opened up on following a low carb diet plan and filled up on plenty of fruits and vegetables.

A source previously claimed Jessie chose a healthy diet plan so she could sustain the results.

“Jessie’s always tried faddy diets, but this time she wanted to lose weight for good,” the source told Mail Online.

Eating a low carb diet plan is one favoured by many people hoping to lose weight.

Low carb foods include meat, fish, eggs, vegetables and some fruits.

How many carbs are consumed on the plan will vary depending on factors such as age, sex and activity level.

Studies published in the US National Library of Medicine investigated how low carb foods can help weight loss.

One showed the diet can reduce a person’s appetite, which means they are less likely to eat excess calories.

Experts at Healthline.com added: “Cutting carbs is one of the simplest and most effective ways to lose weight.

“Studies illustrate that people on low-carb diets lose more weight, faster, than those on low-fat diets — even when the latter are actively restricting calories.”

Opening up on her diet plan in the past, Jessie spoke about some of the foods she would regularly eat.

She previously explained she would start the day with Weetabix or porridge.

For lunch, the 49-year-old would tuck into half a sandwich and a large salad.

Dinner would be a light meal like grilled fish or chicken with vegetables.

While she eats healthy, Jessie’s social media suggests she believes in balance and sometimes shares pictures of her tucking into treats.
