Kate is thought to be a size six and hasn’t changed much in appearance since first being thrown into the limelight after marrying Prince William in 2011. The Princess has always been slim, ensuring to look after her figure with a healthy diet and exercise.

It is not known exactly what the royal eats on a daily basis but some comments have given an insight into her habits.

Interestingly, Kate and Meghan Markle’s eating habits are similar as both prefer to eat plant-based foods.

Vegetable kebabs and lentil curry are reportedly some of Kate’s favourite foods, with chef Raghu Deora whipping up the delicious dishes for the Prince and Princess of Wales on their tour of India. The chef told Hello! Magazine at the time: “It is all vegetarian because I was told that was what they preferred.”

The Princess once told a child at Great Ormand Street hospital that she ate lots of olives when she was little, therefore this cholesterol-lowering snack could still be one of Kate’s favourites.

Speaking to a little girl at the hospital in 2018, Kate said: “I used to eat lots and lots of olives when I was little as well.”

While Kate reportedly mostly sticks to lighter, plant-based foods for lunch, she is known to indulge in traditional English favourites for dinner, including roast chicken, which is Prince William’s favourite meal.

In 2010, royal writer Katie Nicholl said: “In the evenings, she [Kate] indulges her hobby of cooking William’s favourite supper, roast chicken. That’s their idea of the perfect night.”

The Princess also frequently enjoys cooking with their children, making pizza, pasta, and baking cakes.

During a visit to Lavender Primary School in Enfield in 2019, Kate mentioned cooking cheesy pasta with her children, according to People.com.

Teacher Matthew Kleiner-Mann told the news website: “She was telling us how much her children love cooking and how they cook for her.

“They made cheesy pasta the other day. One stirs the flour, one puts the milk and butter in. And they make salads and stuff.”

Additionally, although the Duchess has not publicly confirmed her diet, she has reportedly followed the Dukan diet.

Made popular by Dr. Pierre Dukan, a French general practitioner, the diet claims to produce “rapid, permanent weight loss without hunger”, according to Healthline.

It involves eating foods that are high in proteins and low in carbohydrates and is made up of four steps.

The first step is the attack phase, where slimmers start the diet by eating unlimited lean protein plus one and a half tablespoons of oat bran every day, lasts a week.

The next step, which can last for anything from a month to 12 months, involves alternating lean protein one day with lean protein and non-starchy vegetables the next, plus two tablespoons of oat bran every day.

The third phase is the consolidation phase, which is five days for every pound lost in phases one and two, and involves eating unlimited lean protein and vegetables, some carbs and fats, one day of lean protein weekly, and two and a half tablespoons of oat bran daily.

Finally, the fourth phase is the stabilization phase, which is indefinite.

Slimmers are urged to follow the consolidation phase guidelines but loosen the rules as long as their weight remains stable. Oat bran is increased to three tablespoons a day.

Exercise is just as important as diet when it comes to staying healthy and losing weight, and Kate has always been a fan of sport. She played various sports at university, including rowing, tennis, and sailing.

Today, she reportedly enjoys running, weight training, and CrossFit training to keep active and fit.
