Weight loss is not an easy task so looking to others who have slimmed down can be great motivation for many. Emmerdale star, Lisa Riley, is best known for her role as Mandy Dingle in Emmerdale between 1995 and 2001, and again in 2019. Recently, she has turned heads for another reason after her remarkable 12st weight loss transformation. Lisa has also cut back by seven dress sizes and opened up about the plan she used to do this.

The actress went through an incredible transformation and shared her tips on how others can shape up.
Speaking to the Mirror, Lisa explained she used portion control to help her slim down from a size 28 to a trim size 12.
She said: “I had made myself fat by gorging on bread, crisps, crumpets and red wine.
“Once I accepted responsibility for my health, weight and lifestyle it made it easier to take control. You don’t have to have starter, main and pudding.
“If you are doing that you are eating too much.”
The soap star revealed being honest about what she was eating helped her get in control of her diet and make the right changes.
She credited eating out of a bowl for helping her with portion control.
Lisa revealed she kept her cupboards free from junk food and would start each day with a cup of hot water and lemon to aid slimming.
The star also gave dieters tips on how to get back on track if they feel they are veering from their goals.
She told the Mirror: “Everyone is bound to have little blips along the way, but don’t see that as failure and a signal to give up – just draw a line under it and move on.”
Lisa used her Instagram account to give fans an insight into her healthy lifestyle.
Recently posting a picture of her before and after losing weight, she revealed cutting out alcohol was another secret of her success.
The post said: “Making this my lifestyle at least five days a week.
“I watch what I eat day in day out, STILL not a drop of alcohol in nearly four years. THIS IS CHANGE OF LIFE…..not a diet.”
The star also uses her Instagram account to post pictures of her healthy meals to give fans a glimpse of what she eats day-to-day.
In order to stay slim, Lisa exercises for a minimum of 30-minutes each day and has released a diet book, Honesty Diet, with more tips on how dieters can transform their lives like her.
