Chinese Lemon Chicken


  1. 2-3 big chicken breasts(for family of 4)
  2. 4 table spoons soy sauce
  3. 1 table spoon salt
  4. 2 table spoons black pepper
  5. 1 table spoon cumin
  6. 2 eggs
  7. 1 cup regular or corn flour
  8. Sause
  9. 1 tea spoon lemon zest
  10. 1 couple of lemon slices
  11. 2 tea spoons honey
  12. 2 tea spoons sugar
  13. 1 table spoon salt
  14. 1/4 cup lemon juice
  15. 3 table spoons of slurry(flour mixed with water)
  16. 2 cups chicken stock
  17. 2 table spoons olive oil
  18. Sesame seeds


  1. Clean the chicken, cut it into small/medium pieces. Add the seasonings,pepper,salt,cumin,soy sauce and if you prefer to add anything else. Leave it over night in the fridge.

  2. Next day, add 2 eggs,and the flour and mix them. Put the chicken back in the fridge for about 15-20minutes.

  3. Meanwhile the chicken is in the the fridge, start boiling the oil as it takes time.

  4. Now fry the chicken in a deep pan and put it on the side untill sause is ready.

  5. Sause, use a small pan. Put the oil, lemon zest, chicken stock (I used the powder)sugar,salt and honey. Mix well. Put the lemon slices and leave the sause to boil for about 30minutes.

  6. Use a colander to keep the sause without any lemon pieces/zest. The sause is ready.

  7. Remove the lemon slices,add the slurry, i added alittle more flour and keep mixing to make the flour dissolve. Add sesame seeds,and pour the sause on the chicken.
