Jeremiah’s Dirty-in-all-the-best-ways-possible Rice

It was so creamy and just the right amount of spice!


  1. 1.5 cups brown rice
  2. 3.5 cups water
  3. 1 large yellow onion, chopped
  4. 1 green pepper, chopped
  5. 2 stalks celery, chopped
  6. 3 cloves garlic, minced
  7. 1/2 stick butter
  8. 2 tbsp sriracha
  9. 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  10. 1/2 tbsp red chili flakes
  11. 1 tsp black pepper
  12. 1 tsp jalapeño hot sauce
  13. 1/2 tbsp all purpose flour


  1. Dice the veggies (if you haven’t already) and add to a sauce pan with the butter and lightly sweat out the aromatics on medium low heat.

  2. Add the flour and seasonings and stir until a light roux forms.

  3. Add the water and bring up to a boil then stir in the rice.

  4. Cook on low until the rice is soft and water is almost completely absorbed.
