Mika's Sweedish Meatballs

Ingredients

  1. Meatballs
  2. 1 lb hamburger meat
  3. 1 lb ground pork
  4. 3/4 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
  5. 2 Large Eggs
  6. 4-5 dashes Worchestershire Sauce
  7. salt
  8. Pepper
  9. Sauce
  10. 1 Onion – Diced
  11. 1 spoonful minced garlic
  12. 1 package mushrooms (fresh, not canned, but any kind of mush)
  13. heavy whipping cream
  14. 2 tubs Knorr brand beef stock
  15. 1 shot whiskey (other alcohol will work, can be omitted)
  16. 1 spoonful honey
  17. 2 egg yolks
  18. butter
  19. Worchestershire to taste (10-30 dashes?)

Steps

  1. Mix Meatball ingredients. Form into 1 inch balls

  2. Sautee in pan until meatballs are browned on outside. Don’t fully cook.

  3. Reserve half-cooked meatballs for later.

  4. Mix egg yolks with small amount of cream. Reserve for later.

  5. Sautee garlic, onions, and mushrooms in butter until brown

  6. Add cream, beef stock, worchestershire, honey. Simmer, stirring frequently, until slightly thickened.

  7. Add whiskey and egg yolks. Stir thoroughly

  8. Add meatballs back into sauce

  9. Simmer until meatballs are fully cooked

  10. Serve over rice, toast, or mashed potatoes.
