Mom's Chili

Ingredients

  1. 1 lb ground beef
  2. 1 red pepper
  3. 1 green pepper
  4. 1 can chickpeas
  5. 2-3 cloves garlic
  6. 2 whole jalapenos (seeded)
  7. 1 Tbsp Frank's Red Hot Sauce
  8. 1/2 can tomato sauce (680 ml can, use 1/2)
  9. 1 (28 oz) can diced tomato
  10. 1 Tbsp chili powder
  11. 1 tsp dried basil
  12. 1/2 chopped onion
  13. 1 Tbsp sugar
  14. 1 can kidney beans

Steps

  1. Cook ground beef with onion. Drain fat

  2. Slice garlic gloves.

  3. Cut red and green peppers into 1 inch pieces.

  4. Cut jalapeno (I remove the seeds so that it is not too spicy)

  5. Add all ingredients (veggies, garlic, chickpeas, tomato sauce and paste, spices) to the meat.

  6. Bring to a boil. Let simmer for 1 hour and stir frequently.
